Final Day At Work

A farewell cum 'sau gung jao' lunch treat from my fellow colleagues including Dexter, a lovely box of Ferrero Rocher from Secretary, a cute HugMe bear from Angel and Agent Swee, a yummylicious pork knuckle lunch treat from Koala Bear, a red Parker pen from Nobita, a fragrant Lovely Lace bear, a smacking ol' skool breakfast and a 'Seasons In The Sun' song dedication from Sek Long, a memorable 'siu long bao' lunch with the KPC members, and lots of well wishes and hugs from everyone. Lots and lots of pictures too!!

Farewell Gifts & Treat
Huggies and munchies to remember by

And all I could give was a measly but heartwarming (I hope!) photostory slideshow dedication to them as well as personal thank you notes with photos taken with them respectively attached on it. *Sighz* I'm so gonna miss each and everyone of them, each and every single moment spent with them. *SOBS*

Counting Down To Friday

It's my final week at work. Soon, it will be the CNY week-long celebration and then reporting to work at the new firm, and off to The Netherlands that weekend for 2 and a half months training.

The faster the time flies, the more excited and nervous I am. Not forgetting, the more depressed I get thinking of saying goodbye to my colleagues. It's true that people come and go, and I do get upset whenever I had to leave my friends to embark on a new journey in life. Perhaps that's the reason why I'm a bit sentimental at the thought of having to leave my colleagues.. Because they have become my friends as well. Life at work would have been so awfully ordinary and demotivating had it not been for them.

The thing is, this was my very first job. And I don't even know what am I supposed to do, what am I supposed to pack prior to my last day. I have to face the fact that its time to clear the drawers, to throw out all the bits and pieces sitting on my In-Out tray, and removing all my stuffs from the hard disks before formatting them. So much to do, yet so hard to accomplish.

Will my colleagues miss me as much as I miss them?

Forever Young

Just when I was writing about feeling so old in my previous entry, the song "Forever Young" came into mind.

Forget that it was actually about some nuclear war during the 80's but the fact that life is too short to take for granted. Sometimes I wonder why some people would take the easy way out to die when there are so many more people out there fighting just to survive. Hhhhm....

Let's dance in style, let's dance for a while
Heaven can wait, we're only watching the skies
Hoping for the best but expecting the worst
Are you going to drop the bomb or not?

Let us die young or let us live forever
We don't have the power but we never say never
Sitting in a sandpit, life is a short trip
The music's for the sad men

Can you imagine when this race is won
Turn our golden faces into the sun
Praising our leaders we're getting in tune
The music's played by the madmen

Forever young, I want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever, forever and ever

Some are like water, some are like the heat
Some are a melody and some are the beat
Sooner or later they all will be gone
Why don't they stay young

It's so hard to get old without a cause
I don't want to perish like a fading horse
Youth is like diamonds in the sun
And diamonds are forever

So many adventures couldn't happen today
So many songs we forgot to play
So many dreams are swinging out of the blue
We let them come true

Forever young, I want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever, forever and ever.

~ Alphaville ~

Which reminds me, here's a shoutout to Sek Long who celebrates his big 3-0 today. Happy Birthday!! May you be forever young!! *grin*

Feeling So Darn Old

Tagged along with Inspector to attend a friend's birthday suprise party at Uncle Chilli's. Was pleasantly suprised that the place weren't as smoky and noisy as I had expected it to be.

Birthday Cheer
Colourful birthday cheers

Had an enjoyable time, just watching and listening to the performance live band. We suddenly felt so old coz the band was singing to songs like 'Dying Inside To Hold You', 'Sweet Child Of Mine' and a famous one by Deep Purple. Songs from our era, while we were still in high school! I think they even sang an Abba song. On top of that, this year we will be celebrating our 28th birthdays, literally just inches away from the big 3-0. *Gasp*

On top of that, I had barely 3 hours of sleep coz we got home shortly before 3 am and had to wake up by 6 this morning. Used to be able to stay awake for ages. Not anymore. Hence the title, 'Feeling so darn old'!

Shucks...

Everyone working in KL and Selangor is on holiday today, except for me and my colleagues.

My @$%^# company has stopped declaring Thaipusam as a public holiday for us since 2 years back.

So unfair. *sulk*
